Poppy Soap Co. “Make Your Own Healing Salve” Feature in Edible San Luis Obispo Magazine
San Luis Obispo based artisan Lindy LaRoche is the heart-centered maker and owner of Poppy Soap Co. Poppy Soap Co.’s focus revolves around a “bar for bar” philosophy. For every bar of Poppy Soap purchased online or in stores, another bar of soap is donated to a women’s shelter in the local community. They are community-oriented artisans crafting organic soap, describing themselves as being “on a give back mission.” Edible San Luis Obispo Magazine reached out to feature Lindy in an article highlighting an organic skincare recipe that readers would be able to recreate. For the photographs, she knew she desired imagery that was bright, airy, and cheerful. Her goal for this D-I-Y natural beauty project was to let the all natural ingredients shine.
In the Edible SLO feature “Make Your Own Healing Salve,” Lindy shared with readers how to make their own all natural, organic skincare, clean beauty, calendula infused salve with locally sourced ingredients. The ingredients included organic calendula, beeswax, and locally grown and harvested olive oil. The result was a vibrantly golden, butter-yellow colored balm. We were overjoyed to bring her vision to life during a collaborative styling session.
